Major General Doan Quang Hoa speaks at the meeting.

At the meeting, Vo Van Tam, Director of the Vinh Long Provincial Department of Home Affairs, reported on key results in implementing policies for wounded and sick soldiers, families of martyrs, and other national contributors, as well as local social welfare programs. He emphasized that Vinh Long, which has been formed from the merger of Vinh Long, Ben Tre, and Tra Vinh, has a proud revolutionary tradition, resilient during wartime and dynamic in peacetime.

Speaking at the event, Maj. Gen. Doan Quang Hoa, Director of the Department of Social Policy, expressed deep gratitude for the great contribution and sacrifices of heroic martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers, heroic Vietnamese mothers, and revolution contributors from Vinh Long. He affirmed that the Party, State, and military always value and care for those who served the revolution.

The general informed the delegation that in recent years, the Central Military Commission and the MND have directed relevant agencies to coordinate with central and local authorities in reviewing and updating policies for national contributors, especially those related to the armed forces. These policies have been promptly implemented, addressing the needs and expectations of beneficiaries and strengthening public trust in the Party, the State, and the military.

Delegates receive gifts.

Since 2013, more than 21,000 sets of martyrs’ remains have been recovered nationwide, over 10,000 within the country and nearly 11,000 repatriated from abroad. However, around 170,000 sets of remains have yet to be located, and more than 300,000 have been buried but remain unidentified.

Various gratitude movements have been actively implemented across the armed forces, contributing to improving the living conditions of policy families and fostering the nation’s tradition of gratitude and solidarity.

General Hoa affirmed that the efforts of officers and soldiers in the whole military have contributed to improving the material and spiritual well-being of policy families and national contributors. At the same time, these activities help educate military personnel, especially the younger generation, about the nation’s fine traditions of gratitude.

The meeting took place in a warm and respectful atmosphere, demonstrating the MND’s deep concern for national contributors. On behalf of the ministry’s leaders, General Hoa presented gifts to the delegates from Vinh Long Province.
