Defense-Economic Unit 715 promotes joint efforts to build strong border areas
PANO - On September 9, in the border commune of Ia O, Gia Lai province, Defense-Economic Unit 715 under Corps 15 held a conference to sign coordination regulations with the People’s Committees of Ia O, Ia Krai, and Ia Chia communes.
Also at the event, the unit signed twinning agreements with Ia O and Ia Chia Border Posts under the Gia Lai provincial Border Guard Command, and Ia O Primary and Secondary Boarding School.

At the conference, delegates discussed and agreed upon various areas of coordination. The focus is on maintaining information exchange to closely monitor the local situation, protecting national border sovereignty and security, building an all-people national defense posture coupled with the people’s security posture, preventing and combating crimes, responding to natural disasters, and conducting search and rescue operations.

In addition, they will join hands in infrastructure development, implementation of national target programs, sustainable poverty reduction, vocational training, science and technology transfer, job creation, and ensuring social security.

Speaking at the event, Senior Colonel Huynh Xuan Phuoc, Head of Defense-Economic Unit 715, stated that the unit operates across three western communes of Gia Lai province, with Ia O and Ia Chia being border communes sharing over 13km of border with Cambodia.
Over the past years, Defense-Economic Unit 715 has pro-actively partnered with local authorities and forces to carry out practical activities, contributing to boosting socio-economic development and maintaining national defense and security. The unit has effectively maintained the “household pairing” model, pairing 286 Kinh households with ethnic minority households. Furthermore, its 13 production teams and infirmary have formed twinning relationships with 16 local hamlets.
