At the meeting, on behalf of the delegation, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Dong Thap province Nguyen Thi Kieu Loan reported on several key results in implementing policies for wounded and sick soldiers, families of martyrs, national contributors, as well as social welfare policies in the province.

In recent years, the local Party organizations and authorities at all levels have focused on effectively implementing the gratitude policy. To date, the province has verified, resolved entitlements for, and managed over 194,000 people who had rendered good service to the nation. Among them, around 21,800 individuals receive monthly preferential allowances, with a total annual disbursement of about VND 620 billion from the central budget. Additionally, 30,253 individuals have received one-time allowances totaling approximately VND 93 billion.
During the event, General Hoa expressed deep gratitude for the immense sacrifices and contribution of heroic martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers, heroic Vietnamese mothers, and families and individuals who contributed to the revolutionary cause in Dong Thap province during the struggle for national liberation, construction, and defense of the Fatherland.

He noted that, over the past five years, the whole military has mobilized officers, soldiers, and military units to support the construction and repair of nearly 6,000 houses, with a total cost of over VND 480 billion; presented more than 1,100 savings books, worth over VND 6.2 billion; provided care for 2,879 heroic Vietnamese mothers (595 of whom are still alive); sponsored 702 children of martyrs and severely wounded soldiers; and recruited or created employment for 420 children of severely wounded soldiers currently raised in centers, as well as for wives and children of fallen soldiers who sacrificed their lives while performing military and defense duties.
At the meeting, on behalf of the leadership of the MND and the General Department of Political Affairs, Maj. Gen. Doan Quang Hoa presented 69 gifts from the MND to members of the Dong Thap delegation of national contributors.
