Dak Lak border troops brace for flood response in the border area
PANO - On September 7, prolonged heavy rains combined with water discharge from the Ea Sup Thuong reservoir caused severe flooding and local isolation in many areas across the border communes of Ia Lop and Ia Rve in Dak Lak province.
Ea H’Leo and Ia Rve Border Posts, under the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard Command, promptly deployed response measures to ensure safety of residents.

Colonel Bui Quang Tuyen, Commanding Officer of Ea H’Leo Border Post, said that many routes and residential areas were isolated. In response to this situation and following directives from the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard Command, the unit mobilized forces and vehicles to coordinate with other relevant forces to guide residents to safe areas. They also set up checkpoints and planted warning signs on flooded routes, and instructed residents to adhere to disaster response measures, avoiding traveling along dangerous flood-hit areas.
Officers and soldiers were stationed at key flooded points, ready to provide support and rescue. Border management and protection measures amidst complex weather conditions were also applied.

According to initial statistics, no human casualties have been reported.
In Ia Rve commune, the flood situation was severe. Many areas were cut off, making travel difficult and posing serious risks.
In response, the Ia Rve Border Post swiftly deployed troops to coordinate with local forces in conducting guard duties, installing warning signs, and preparing response measures to ensure timely rescue operations. All units were required to strictly follow orders from superiors, with the principle of the people’s safety first.
