Over the past two years, Coast Guard Region 3 and Dong Thap have advised the Party Committees of the Vietnam Coast Guard and Dong Thap to sign the “Coast guards stand by fishermen” program. They have jointly organized two programs in Tan Phu Dong and Go Cong Dong districts, two online contests “I love my national sea and islands” for secondary school students, distributed 620 gift packages (worth VND 1 million each) to disadvantaged fishermen and policy families, donated 30 bicycles and 200 scholarships to underprivileged students, and provided free medical care and medicines for over 300 policy beneficiaries and poor residents.
