More than 100 Youth Union members attended the event.

The highlight of the event was the flag-raising and incense-offering ceremonies taking place at Phu Quoc Prison historical relic site in tribute to heroic martyrs who remained steadfast and unyielding in captivity and made great contribution to the nation’s great victory.

The journey stood out among a wide range of activities celebrating national festive days, affirming the pioneering, creative, and voluntary role of the youths of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command and Phu Quoc Special Zone.

The same day, Youth Union cadres and members of the Naval Region 5 participated in a flag-raising and incense-offering ceremonies at and toured Phu Quoc Prison historical relic site.

* Also on August 16, after a flag-raising ceremony, the Ho Chi Minh City chapter of the Vietnam Youth Federation launched the third “I Love My Fatherland” journey in 2025.

The event was to mark the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2), and the 69th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Youth Federation (October 15, 1956 - 2025).

Under this journey which was actively responded by the chapter’s affiliates, a number of meaningful activities will be held. Right after the launch, the city’s youths enthusiastically joined in social security activities, such as caring for and supporting heroic Vietnamese mothers, visiting historical relic sites and “red addresses,” and the “Proud National Flag” activity.

Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Federation’s Ho Chi Minh City chapter Ngo Minh Hai affirmed that the journey helps spread patriotism among Vietnamese youths, including those from Ho Chi Minh City, honoring the sacrifices of the older generations for peace, independence, democracy, and social progress. Through this journey, city youths are inspired to cultivate, study, train, live meaningfully, dare to think big, act bold and contribute to the city’s stronger development.
