At the meeting, the delegates reviewed the Steering Committee’s results over the past years and discussed measures to improve the quality of implementing Decree No 167. Up to now, the Steering Committee has reviewed and compiled the plans of 63 provinces and cities to report to the MND's leader, then submit to the People's Committees of provinces and cities.

Speaking at the conference, Gen. Don asked the Steering Committee and commanders of relevant agencies and units to thoroughly review their housing facilities and land that have not been reported to the MND. For provinces and cities with with a large number of housing and land facilities and military units stationed, he also requested to send delegations to work with local authorities to complete all assigned missions.

After checking the working conditions, production process, and product quality in the factory, Gen. Truong had a working session with commanders and troops of the unit.

Acknowledging and praising the results achieved by the factory over the past time, the Deputy Defense Minister asked the unit’s commander and troops to implement all measures to improve productivity and the quality of products. Besides, the unit should develop high-quality human resources, expand the market, and find new ways to promote cooperation with other companies.

*The same day, a delegation of the MND, led by Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Le Chiem, inspected the law enforcement on handling administrative violations of the Border Guard Command of Kien Giang province.

According to a report by the provincial Border Guard Command, the situation surrounding administrative violations has been complicated, mainly consisting of the three areas of illegal fishing, smuggling and fake goods, and illegal entry and exit via borders.

Speaking at the event, Gen. Chiem highly praised the results achieved by the unit, and requested it to continue to embrace the resolutions from higher-level authorities, and coordinate with local judicial agencies in performing their tasks, as well as improve their troops' competence.

*Giving a speech at the meeting to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Cipher Sector's Traditional Day (September 12), Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, praised the achievements of the Cipher Sector over the past 75 years. He stressed that in the coming time, the Cipher Department should closely follow situations and coordinate with the armed forces to give recommendations to the Central Military Commission, the MND, and the Government's Cipher Committee on managing the military cipher.

* Deputy Defense Minister Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien had a working session with the Department of Foreign Relations under the Ministry of National Defense on September 10 to inspect preparations for organizing external relations activities in the last months of 2020. 

After being briefed by the unit's commander, Gen. Chien highly appreciated the unit’s positive results over the past time. The results of defense external relations have contributed to strengthening and consolidating defense cooperation relations between Vietnam and other countries in the region as well as in the world.

General Chien praised the responsibility of the unit's troops in performing their assigned tasks in the context of the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He also asked the unit and relevant agencies to continue studying suitable methods to effectively organize military and external defense activities in 2020.
