The conference reviewed the performance of military press agencies during the first eight months of this year. They closely followed developments in Viet Nam and around the world, as well as the leadership, direction and guidance of the Central Military Commission (CMC), Ministry of National Defense (MND), GDP and relevant agencies.

Military press agencies played a pioneering and leading role in disseminating Party's resolutions and covering major domestic and international events, as well as major holidays and anniversaries of the Party, the country and the military. They also reported on meetings of the Party Central Committee, sessions of the National Assembly and Government, activities of Party, State and military leaders, and major military and defense events, international integration activities and defense external affairs.
In his remarks, Sr. Lt. Gen. Truong Thien To called on relevant advisory and directing agencies and military press agencies to focus on several key tasks in the coming period.
First, they should seriously review shortcomings and weaknesses and strictly observe directives, guidance documents and legal regulations on the press. They should also review, supplement and standardize regulations on the production, publication and broadcasting of news and articles. Meanwhile, greater attention should be paid to training and improving the political awareness, professional expertise and practical experience of officials, reporters and editors, thereby enhancing the quality and reputation of military journalism.
Military press agencies should also continue to innovate and improve the effectiveness of disseminating information about the Party’s directives and resolutions concerning military and defense affairs and military building. Particular attention should be paid to popularizing new policies and guidelines and breakthrough tasks, contributing to improvements in training, combat readiness, Party and political work, logistics, technical services and the defense industry.
They should proactively implement approved programs, projects and plans; closely follow official directions and orientations; and provide comprehensive and timely coverage of major political, military, defense and diplomatic events, as well as major national holidays and anniversaries. Military press agencies should also strengthen their pioneering role in safeguarding the Party's ideological foundation and countering false and hostile views.
They should accelerate implementation of the MND’s Digital Transformation Strategy for Journalism through 2030, while expanding the use of artificial intelligence and big data in the production and distribution of news products.
At the same time, coordination among functional agencies, military press agencies and military units should be strengthened in providing and processing information, particularly on important, sensitive and complex issues. This will help maintain proper information orientation and ensure the effective fulfillment of assigned tasks.
