At the meeting, the CMC Standing Board reviewed and gave comments on documents to be submitted to the upcoming CMC meeting, including the draft report on the preliminary review of military and defense tasks in the first six months of 2026 and directions and tasks for the  rest of the year; the draft CMC conclusion on leadership outcomes in carrying out military and defense missions and Military Party Organization-building work in the second half of 2026; and plans for organizing the second session of the CMC meeting and the Mid-year Whole-military Politico-military Conference.

The Standing Board also commented on the report on emulation and commendation work in the first half of the year and orientations and tasks for the second half. In addition, it reviewed reports on personnel management, the management and use of defense land, financial affairs, and mass mobilization work in accordance with the CMC’s leadership regulations.

In his concluding speech, General Phan Van Giang basically agreed with the content prepared by the General Staff and the General Department of Political Affairs. He directed the two agencies to incorporate comments from the Standing Board and instruct relevant bodies to urgently revise, supplement, and finalize the documents for submission to the Standing Board for consideration and approval.

The CMC’s Deputy Secretary called on all agencies and units to maintain close coordination and complete all preparatory work to ensure that the upcoming CMC meeting and the Mid-Year Whole-military Politico-military Conference be organized thoroughly and effectively.
