Gen. Nguyen Tan Cuong asks for good task performance in December
PANO - Chief of the General Staff (GS) and Deputy Defense Minister General Nguyen Tan Cuong on December 7 chaired a meeting of the GS to review the implementation of tasks in November and roll out missions for December.
On hearing reports by affiliated agencies and units and opinions of delegates, Gen. Cuong hailed them for pro-active and resolute performance and completion of all working aspects in November. Particularly, the GS directed the whole military to observe combat readiness regulations, gave timely recommendations to the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense to report to the Party and State leaders to handle situations effectively, contributing to firmly safeguarding national sovereignty and territory.

It also directed units in training, organizing festivals and competitions, mobilizing forces for disaster relief activities, and ensuring security, order and safety during important national events.
Regarding upcoming tasks, Gen. Cuong asked for active watch on situational developments, especially in key areas, border areas, in the airspace and at sea; good training; good preparations for national-level scientific conference to mark the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 35th Whole-People Defense Festive Day.

The GS chief also requested military units to seriously maintain search and rescue readiness at all levels, grasp situations, give timely suggestions to higher level, enhance guard sessions and patrols, implement defense diplomacy and international cooperation activities, as well as ensure security and safety at the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024.
