An overview of the conference

During the event, both sides discussed issues related to political security and economy in the world, the region, and the two countries. According to Deputy Commander of MR2 Major General Dinh Manh Phac, since 2023, the MR2 Command and its affiliated units have sent 91 officers to visit and work with Lao military units. Meanwhile, it has also directed the Military Commands and the Border Guard Commands of Dien Bien and Son La provinces to regularly work with Lao border protection force, to ensure political security and social order in border areas, contributing to building the Vietnam - Laos borderline of peace, solidarity, stability, and comprehensive development.

The MR2 and its affiliated units have also coordinated with the Lao side to launch courses on military affairs, the Vietnamese and Lao languages.

According to Major General Xayyavong Xaynamthilath, the cooperation between the two sides has brought practical achievements. Vietnamese military units have also conducted many meaningful activities, thus strengthening the friendship between the Lao People’s Army and the Vietnam People’s Army, the two parties, states and peoples.

Concluding the conference, both sides signed the coordination agreement for task implementation in the time ahead.

Earlier, the Lao delegation and MR2 leaders offered incense at the memorial house dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh at MR2.
