Vietnamese border posts and Lao units patrol to protect border markers
PANO - Two border posts under the Nghe An provincial Border Guard Command teamed up with two companies of Laos to conduct joint patrols to protect the Vietnam - Laos border on July 3 and 4.
Specifically, forces from the pairs of Nghe An’s My Ly Border Post - Company 217 of the Houaphanh provincial Military Command and Nghe An’s Ngoc Lam Border Post - Company 252 of the Bolykhamxay provincial Military Command checked the borderline, and border markers in the border sections they are managing. They cleared bushes along the patrol path as well.

The patrols took place as planned despite risky mountainous terrains, heavy rain and fog.
During the patrol, participating teams found out that the border markers remained intact. No violations of border-related regulations were recorded.
At the end of the patrol, the two sides held talks to discuss situations related to border management and protection and crime prevention and control work.
