At the event, Sr. Col. Le Huy emphasized that this is the first visit by a VCG ship to the Philippines in 2025, demonstrating the determination and goodwill of both forces to strengthen cooperation, promote traditional friendship, and enhance mutual understanding and trust. This activity, which carries important significance, contributes to realizing the commitments of Vietnam and the Philippines to build waters of peace, security, safety, cooperation, and sustainable development.

During the visit and working trip in the Philippines, the VCG delegation, led by Commander of Coast Guard Region 2 Major General Tran Quang Tuan, will pay courtesy calls on local authorities and the Commander of the Central Visayas region; visit and have sports exchanges at PCG’s regional headquarters. They will have bilateral talks with the PCG delegation, pay a visit to and join a sports exchange with PCG officers, staff, and sailors. During their stay in the Philippines, the Vietnamese delegation will have cultural tours in Cebu city. Notably, the two forces will conduct joint drills at sea.
