Tay Ninh provincial Steering Committee 515 extends New Year greetings to Cambodian unit
PANO - On April 6 in Cambodia, a delegation from Tay Ninh provincial Steering Committee 515, led by Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and Head of the Steering Committee Pham Tan Hoa, visited and extended New Year greetings to, and held a working session with the Special Task Force under the Special Military Region Command of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces on the occasion of the 2026 Chol Chnam Thmay traditional New Year.
The delegation was received by Lieutenant General Mom Sopheap, Deputy Commander of the Special Military Region.
During the session, leaders of both sides shared the results of their coordination in searching for and collecting the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors who sacrificed in wartime in localities in the Special Military Region, while agreeing on future cooperation activities.

Vice Chairman of the Tay Ninh provincial People’s Committee Pham Tan Hoa emphasized that the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia is an invaluable asset of both nations. Within this relationship, defense and security cooperation serves as a crucial pillar, contributing to maintaining peace, stability, and sustainable development in each country. He affirmed that searching for and collecting martyrs’ remains holds profound political and humanistic significance, and expressed sincere gratitude to the Special Task Force and units of the Special Military Region for their active support to Tay Ninh province.
The guest also suggested that both sides continue working closely together and stepping up communications to encourage locals to provide information about martyrs’ graves, thereby enhancing the efficiency of the search and collection work.

For his part, Lieutenant General Mom Sopheap stated that searching for, collecting, and repatriating martyrs’ remains is a sacred mission reflecting deep responsibility and affection. Although this work currently faces numerous difficulties due to a decreasing number of witnesses, he affirmed that, based on the close-knit friendship between the two countries, the Special Military Region is always ready to assist and create all favorable conditions for the forces to accomplish their tasks.
