The handover is aimed at establishing a unified command and management structure for Vietnam's U.N. peacekeeping forces while facilitating pre-deployment training and final preparations before the hospital's deployment to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan.

According to VNDPKO’s Director Major General Pham Manh Thang, the L2FH Rotation 8 comprises 70 personnel, including 63 official members and seven reserves, with one member currently serving with the L2FH Rotation 7 in the mission area. The unit has completed its planned 380-hour specialized training program.

Training was conducted comprehensively across all professional groups, combining military medical instruction with military, political, English-language, logistics, technical, and U.N. peacekeeping training. Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening coordination among departments in hospital operations, emergency medical response, and compliance with U.N. procedures.
