Born in 1997, Linh was among the first in her unit to volunteer when personnel were recruited for U.N. peacekeeping missions in March 2024. Motivated by a desire to challenge herself and gain experience in one of the world's most demanding environments, she was deployed to Bentiu, northern South Sudan, in September 2024 as a member of Vietnam's Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 6.

Working under harsh living conditions and amidst widespread disease, Linh wholehearted cared for the patients from their admission through recovery. In addition to surgical and obstetric cases, she frequently treated malaria patients, often working overnight with her colleagues to monitor critically-ill patients until their conditions stabilized.

Beyond her medical duties, Linh and her teammates participated in community outreach activities, donating notebooks, clothing, and school supplies to local children and families. She said the local people warmly welcomed the Vietnamese peacekeepers, often greeting them enthusiastically with calls of "Vietnam."

According to her colleague, Non-Commissioned First Lieutenant Vo Nhu Quynh, Linh is always willing to support both teammates and patients, inspiring those around her through her strong sense of responsibility.

After completing her first deployment and returning to Vietnam in September 2025, Linh volunteered to participate in peacekeeping mission for second time. This time, she will serve with the Engineering Company, whose personnel regularly operate in remote areas to build roads, bridges, and military facilities.

Linh said that she chose to return because she wanted to continue challenging herself, learn more about other cultures, and further contribute to international peacekeeping. She believes her role extends beyond providing medical care to promoting the image of Vietnam as a peaceful and responsible nation.

Currently undergoing advanced language and field training, Linh is preparing for her next deployment. Her decision to volunteer twice highlights the professionalism, responsibility, and dedication of Vietnam's peacekeepers as they continue contributing to peace, cooperation, and development worldwide.
