Frigate 016 – Quang Trung checked before conducting defense diplomacy activities
PANO – On February 6 at Cam Ranh Military Port in Khanh Hoa province, Rear Admiral Nguyen Anh Tuan, Commander of Naval Region 4, together with a delegation from the Naval Region 4 Command, conducted an inspection and assessed the readiness of Frigate 016 – Quang Trung, under Brigade 162, which is preparing to carry out a defense relations mission in Australia.

After inspecting the ship and reviewing the unit’s overall situation prior to departure, Rear Admiral Nguyen Anh Tuan highly lauded the Party Committee and Chain-of-Command of Brigade 162 for leading and directing the preparation of Frigate 016 – Quang Trung for the mission. The ship’s technical equipment was well maintained and fully operational; communications systems were functioning smoothly; and diplomatic activities to be conducted in the host country had been carefully scheduled and rehearsed in a serious and thorough manner.
The Commander of Naval Region 4 encouraged and instructed the officers and sailors of Frigate 016 – Quang Trung to overcome difficulties, strictly observe diplomatic discipline, and strive to successfully accomplish all assigned tasks. In particular, he emphasized the importance of thoroughly preparing for the organization of the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term.
The mission to transport the delegation of the Vietnam People’s Navy to participate in the international fleet review and Kakadu Exercise 2026 in Australia is of special significance. Through this activity, it is expected to further deepen bilateral defense cooperation between Vietnam and Australia in particular, as well as cooperation among the navies of participating countries in general in the coming period.
