During the visit to the Viet Nam Military History Museum, Senior Lieutenant General Ryo Chol Ung was briefed on the museum’s construction process and key exhibition spaces, which introduce the glorious traditions of the Viet Nam People’s Army in the struggles for national liberation and Fatherland defense.

Senior Lieutenant General Ryo Chol Ung and leaders of the Ministry of National Defense of Viet Nam carried out the plaque-attaching ceremony at the site where the Viet Nam-DPRK Solidarity and Friendship Statue Cluster will be built. The delegation also visited the museum’s area honoring international solidarity, friendship, and gratitude.

After listening to the introduction of the project’s construction plan, Senior Lieutenant General Ryo Chol Ung highly appreciated the significance of the statue cluster, saying that the work would contribute to preserving and reminding future generations of the traditional friendship between Viet Nam and the DPRK during the national liberation, defense, and construction periods.

Speaking with Senior Lieutenant General Ryo Chol Ung, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang emphasized that during the struggles for national liberation and reunification, Viet Nam always received valuable support and assistance from fraternal countries and international friends, including the DPRK. He affirmed that the victories of the Vietnamese people were closely associated with the great, sincere, and loyal support of fraternal socialist countries and progressive forces around the world.
Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang noted that the Party, State, people, and the Viet Nam People’s Army always cherish and remember the DPRK’s effective assistance, as well as the contributions and sacrifices of DPRK martyrs during Viet Nam’s struggle for national independence.
The two defense leaders agreed to continue close coordination to complete the Viet Nam-DPRK Solidarity and Friendship Statue Cluster as scheduled. They also agreed to promote the exchange of historical documents and artifacts related to the traditional friendship between the two countries and their militaries for display and introduction.
