Communication line between Vietnamese, Lao defense ministries launched

The result of the launch will be reported to the leaders of defense ministries of Vietnam and Laos for official operation approval.

Co-chairs of the online event that connected the Defense Ministries of Vietnam and Laos were Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army Sr. Lt. Gen. Huynh Chien Thang and his Lao counterpart Maj. Gen. Vanthoong Buttavong.

Maj. Gen. Khuc Dang Tuan, Commander of the Signal Corps reported that the communication line was launched after a long period of time with the great efforts of involved parties. Once operational, it will help strengthen defense dialogues between the two countries and further enhance the neighbors’ friendship, solidarity, and cooperation.

Addressing the launch, Sr. Lt. Gen. Huynh Chien Thang acknowledged and applauded the utmost efforts of the Signal Corps and relevant units to ensure the progress, quality, safety of the line and their preparations for the launch.

The Vietnamese general also thanked authorized agencies under the Lao Defense Ministry for their close coordination. He asked the two sides’ functional agencies to continue directing and supporting assigned units to maintain the effectiveness of the communication line.

At the event, the two deputy chiefs of the General Staff checked the line and signed the minutes of the launch.
