Decontaminated land handed over to MoT
PANO – Representatives of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam (MND), the Air Defense Air Force Service and the Ministry of Transport (MoT) signed a document on the handover of 12.7ha of dioxin-decontaminated land in Da Nang Airport to the MoT.
This is the handover of land in the second phase of the Da Nang Airport dioxin-decontamination project for the airport expansion. The decontamination has been co-conducted by the MND and the USAID and financially-funded by non-refundable ODA from the US Government. Previously, in May 2017, after the completion of the first phase of the project, the MND handed over 5.97ha of decontaminated land for the construction of taxiway E7 and an aircraft stand to serve the upcoming APEC 2017 Summit slated for this November in Da Nang.
It is estimated that in the first quarter of 2018, when the project comes to an end, the MND will hand over the whole remaining area (around 16ha) to the MoT for the overall implementation of the expansion of the airport.
