At the ceremony, the Thanh Hoa provincial Military Command announced the decision to send troops to perform the task of martyrs’ remain search and collection and assigned duties to the command’s Search and Collection Team in the 2024-2025 dry season.

In the 2023-2024 dry season, the Thanh Hoa provincial Military Command’s Search and Collection Team coordinated with local authorities and the armed forces of seven districts of Laos’ Houaphanh province, namely Meuanghiem, Meuangsone, Viengxay, Samneua, Xiengkhor, Meuangeat, and Sopbao, searched for and collected 15 sets of martyrs’ remains.

To prepare for the mission in the 2024-2025 dry season, the province’s Steering Committee 515 directed the provincial military command to coordinate with relevant departments and sectors to organize meetings with the specialized committee of Houaphanh province to agree on timing, forces, vehicles, equipment, and search areas. Meanwhile, additional training for participating personnel has been carefully conducted; technical and logistics supplies for the mission have been well prepared.

Speaking at the event, Senior Colonel Le Van Trung, Deputy Head of the Thanh Hoa provincial Steering Committee 515, acknowledged and applauded the achievements of the provincial Military Command’s Search and Collection Team over the past time.

He also underlined the significance of the task of search and collection of martyrs’ remains and urged troops to enhance their solidarity, overcome difficulties, effectively carry out mass mobilization and people-to-people diplomacy, adapt to local cultures and customs, and improve their proficiency in the Lao language to well complete assigned missions.

Earlier, delegates attended the ceremony to offer incense and flowers in tribute to fallen soldiers at the memorial house dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh and Ham Rong War Cemetery.
