During the inspection, Sr. Lt. Gen. Le Quang Minh commended the Vinh Long and Dong Thap provincial Steering Committees 515 for their efforts, sense of responsibility, and determination, which have produced positive results. He asked the committees to seriously consider the delegation’s candid and responsible recommendations.

He stressed that the provincial Steering Committees 515, Party Committees, and Military Commands of the provinces must demonstrate the highest political determination in organizing and directing the campaign. They should regularly inspect progress, urge units to maintain momentum, and directly encourage troops performing the mission in the field. Efforts to identify, receive, verify, and confirm information on martyrs’ remains should also be strengthened. The committees should regularly review both achievements and shortcomings, promptly recognize and reward outstanding individuals and organizations, and intensify public communications through practical and accurate coverage of troops carrying out the mission.
GDP’s leader emphasized that the search for, collection, and identification of martyrs’ remains is a special political mission of profound humanitarian significance for the Party and State, as well as a responsibility, honor, and tradition of the military.
“Although the task is demanding, every time we undertake it, we are reminded of our solemn responsibility and deep sentiments toward previous generations who sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. Therefore, we must be creative, pro-active, flexible, and pursue breakthroughs in searching for, collecting, and restoring the identities of heroic martyrs,” he said.
On the occasion, the delegation also laid flowers, offered incense, and inspected the collection of martyrs’ remains samples at Giong Trom War Cemetery in Vinh Long province and Tien Giang War Cemetery in Dong Thap province.
