More than 13,500 samples of martyrs’ remains transported to Ha Noi for DNA testing

A total of 13,563 samples were transported and handed over for DNA testing, including 4,651 from Dong Nai city, 5,287 from Tay Ninh province, and 3,625 from Lam Dong province. The samples were sealed and packed in 144 specialized containers to ensure their safety during transportation and handover. They were all covered with the national flag. 

In a solemn atmosphere, delegates offered flowers and incense in tribute to the fallen, expressing their deep gratitude for their sacrifices. 

The delegates, officers, and soldiers then carried out the ceremony to load the specialized containers holding samples of the martyrs’ remains onto the military transport aircraft. Each container was handled with the utmost care and respect, reflecting the solemn responsibility toward those who bravely sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, as well as the hope of identifying them soon and returning their names to their families and hometowns. 

A military transport aircraft of the Air Defense -  Air Force Service departed from Tan Son Nhat International Airport, carrying the samples to Ha Noi. After landing at Gia Lam Airport, a welcome ceremony and handover were held before the samples were transferred to the receiving units.

In Ha Noi, the Military Forensic Institute received the samples from Lam Dong province, while the Viet Nam Academy of Science and Technology received those from Dong Nai city and Tay Ninh province for DNA testing.

The effort is expected to accelerate the identification of martyrs whose identities remain unknown, meeting the hopes of their relatives and families while reflecting the responsibility and gratitude of the present generation and Viet Nam’s tradition of honoring those who sacrificed themselves for the country.
