At the ceremony, the Kien Giang provincial Military Command announced the decision to send troops to perform the task of searching and collecting remains of soldiers who sacrificed their lives while conducting international service in Cambodia, and assigned duties to Team K92 in the 2024-2025 dry season.

Team K92 was established by the Kien Giang provincial Military Command in 2001 to search for and collect martyrs' remains in Cambodia’s four provinces of Kampot, Kep, Preah Sihanouk, and Koh Kong and localities in Vietnam. Over the past 24 years, the unit has successfully located and collected 2,132 sets of martyrs' remains in Cambodia, of which 135 have been identified.

To prepare for the mission in the dry season of 2024-2025, Steering Committee 515 of the province has directed the provincial military command to coordinate with relevant departments and sectors to organize meetings with the specialized committees of the provinces in Cambodia to agree on timing, forces, vehicles, equipment, garrisoned location, and search areas.

Besides, additional training for participating personnel has been carefully conducted; technical and logistical supplies for the mission have been well prepared.
