At around 2:00 p.m. on September 28, a fire broke out in the forest of Area 2, Cua Ong ward, Cam Pha city, Quang Ninh province. The dry and hot weather, along with a layer of dry branches and debris left by Typhoon Yagi, caused the fire to spread rapidly.

Upon receiving the report from the local authorities, with approval from higher command, Battalion 105 of Division 363 dispatched 40 officers and soldiers, led by Major Nguyen Dinh Chinh, Second-in-Command Officer of Battalion 105, along with necessary equipment and tools, to the scene. They coordinated with local forces from Cua Ong ward and local residents to extinguish the fire.

The steep, rugged terrain with dry grass and bushes made it challenging for the firefighting forces to approach the site. However, with the spirit of urgency and bravery, the forces were quickly divided into several groups to contain the flames.

By 7:30 p.m., the fire was largely under control. However, due to the thick layer of dry debris and ongoing hot, dry weather, there was still a high risk of the fire recurrence in some areas. To prevent this, the unit assigned personnel to working at the scene, ready to respond to any incidents. By 10:00 p.m., the fire had been completely extinguished, and the officers and soldiers safely returned to their base, with no injuries or damage to personnel and equipment.
