The troops, in coordination with local militiamen and people, built two temporary bridges after the old ones were swept away by the flooding in Xi Nuc hamlet, Tan Long commune. They also repaired a tank monument, local infrastructure, and roads as well as cleaned up the environment, and rebuilt damaged houses for the locals.
On this occasion, a delegation of the corps, led by its Deputy Commander Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Thuat, also visited and encouraged Huong Hoa district’s authorities and people while handing over VND 200 million and 4.5 tons of necessities and food supplies (worth over VND 100 million) to flood-affected people.
Earlier, the delegation also presented VND 150 million to the Military Region 4 Command to support fallen soldiers who recently sacrificed themselves while implementing natural disaster prevention and control tasks in the region.
* On November 11, the Phu Yen provincial Military Command sent 400 troops and militiamen, together with nearly 30 vehicles to help flood-hit people overcome the flood consequences.
Arriving at the area, the forces tried their best to help the flood-hit people. They rebuilt collapsed houses, cleaned up the environment, dredged drainage canals, repaired roads, and cleaned up schools.
Specifically, the forces moved 4,099 households with 12,987 people to safer places, ensuring safety during the recent flooding and storms.
