Earlier, on the afternoon of April 16, a large fire broke out in the forest area, near pylons No.71 to No.73 of the Nho Quan – Thuong Tin 500kV power transmission line, approximately 300-500 meters away from the line. The fire is believed to have originated from the area of Chi Ne townlet, Lac Thuy district, Hoa Binh province. Due to dry weather conditions and strong winds, the flames quickly spread, posing a threat to the power line safety corridor. The challenging terrain—steep rocky mountains with no accessible paths—added significant difficulties to the firefighting efforts.
