In this program themed “Our national border,” the units presented a set of computer to Yen Khuong Border Post under the provincial Border Guard Command. They also handed over 30 gifts, each including a coat, a backpack, and VND 300,000, to poor students with good academic results; a bike and scholarships valued at VND 10 million, to disadvantaged ethnic minority students in Yen Khuong commune; five gifts to the commune’s patriarchs and village heads, national flags to local people in charge of safeguarding the border and land markers, as well as gifts to needy women.

In addition, the units inaugurated and handed over a Happy House to Lo Thi Trang, a fifth grader from Yen Thang Primary School in Lang Chanh district; started the construction of two other houses, worth VND 80 million each, to present to other needy students in Tan Phuc commune, Lan Chanh district.
“March in border areas” program is yearly launched in Thanh Hoa province, contributing to promoting the vanguard role of youths in socio-economic development, defense and security consolidation, and strengthening the solidarity between local Youth Union, Youth Federation members and border troops and local people.
On March 12 and 13, the Youth Union Organization of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio, and A Mu Sung Border Post under the Lao Cai provincial Border Guard Command held a similar program at the border post.
During the event, the participants offered incense in tribute to heroes and fallen troops of the post, joined an artistic exchange, and a talk.

Presenting bikes to needy students |
The organizers presented 10 bikes, 15 ceiling fans, and other gifts to local poor households, families of fallen troops, adopted children of border posts, disadvantaged students. They also gave 200kg of rice, 10 blankets and cash to Nam Chac Primary and Secondary Ethnic Semi-Boarding School.
This was one of the practical activities toward the border launched by the Youth Union Organization of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and its affiliates to express thanks to border guards and ethnic minority people who days and nights protect the land of the country.
