The ceremony was jointly held by the Central Committees of the Vietnam Youth Federation and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and the Vietnam Border Guard Command. It was launched on the occasion of the 64th founding anniversary of the border guard force, the 34th anniversary of the whole people’s border guard day and the 92nd founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

Within the framework of the event, the organizing panel conducted a flag salute ceremony “I love my Fatherland” at National Border Landmark 605 in Ka Tang village, Lao Bao townlet, Huong Hoa district.

During the ceremony, the organizing panel presented a project “Beautiful schools for students,” a livelihood model, a project “computer rooms for students,” two projects “Happy houses,” youth projects “Light in border areas,” among others, to schools, needy people and disadvantaged minorities students in the locality.

Organizers present national flags and Uncle Ho portraits to local people in border areas.

Meanwhile, the organizers handed over computers to 11 border communes in Huong Hoa district and eight tablets to the Salavan and Savannakhet provincial Youth Unions (Laos); granted 20 scholarships and 100 welfare bags to needy families in Huong Hoa district, 20 gifts to policy beneficiaries and poor households, and national flags and Uncle Ho portraits to families in the locality.

After the launching ceremony, delegates participated in various activities, including providing free medical examinations, health counseling, medicines for local people, youths and children; inauguration ceremony of programs “Lessons in border areas,” “Happy houses,” to name but a few.

On the same day, the “March in border areas” program was conducted in Lang Son and Kien Giang provinces.
