Lai Chau provincial Military Command begins housing construction for flood-affected residents
PANO - On July 20, the Lai Chau provincial Military Command mobilized nearly 100 officers and soldiers to launch a housing construction program for 24 flood-affected families in the resettlement area of San Bay village, Muong Than commune.

According to the plan, the project provides a centralized resettlement area for 24 families who lost their houses in recent natural disasters. It involves leveling approximately 10,000 square meters of land and building houses, along with essential infrastructure such as internal roads, electricity system, water supply and drainage systems, and other auxiliary facilities.
With an estimated budget of VND 19 billion, the site was handed over and construction officially began on July 20.
Assigned with the direct construction task, officers and soldiers of Regiment 880 and the Lai Chau provincial Military Command’s agencies immediately got to work. Following their commanders’ assignments, the troops urgently worked to clear away trash, debris, and branches, and move soil and rock to prepare the site.

Senior Colonel Dang Vinh Thuy, Commanding Officer of the Lai Chau provincial Military Command, affirmed that the construction is being carried out under emergency project procedures, ensuring both quality and progress. The commander emphasized the unit’s determination to complete the project as soon as possible to help the recipients stabilize their lives.
