* On October 12 and 13, the Lao Cai Provincial Border Guard Command, together with the “Friends of Hanoi Capital” voluntary group and the MP Group Joint Stock Company, coordinated with the Si Ma Cai district authorities to start constructing five houses for families in Seo Khai Hoa and Lao Chai hamlets, San Chai commune, Si Ma Cai district, Lao Cai province.

These families had lost their houses due to landslides caused by the circulation of Typhoon Yagi. Each family received financial aid of VND 100 million, with additional support from local agencies and organizations. They were also given a buffalo each to help with farming. This initiative demonstrated the spirit of mutual support and practical assistance to families in need, helping them rebuild their lives.

* On October 11, the Kon Tum Provincial Border Guard Command, Sa Loong Border Post, and the Border Post of Bo Y International Border Gate coordinated with local authorities to inaugurate and hand over two gratitude houses to policy families facing housing difficulties in Sa Loong and Po Y communes, Ngoc Hoi district.

With a financial support of VND 120 million from Military Bank's Kon Tum branch and the assistance of construction materials and working days from the local border guard forces, the construction of two houses, each about 38 sq.m., was completed. The initiative not only provided housing for disadvantaged families but also encouraged the border communities to work closely with the border guard force to safeguard national sovereignty and border security. Since the beginning of 2024, the Kon Tum Provincial Border Guard Command has handed over 15 such houses.

*  From October 9 to 11, the Tra Vinh Provincial Border Guard Command, in cooperation with the Tra Vinh chapter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and local authorities, handed over five houses to needy families in coastal border areas of the province.

Each house, measuring between 30-42 sq.m., was built with financial aid of VND 50 million from the Tra Vinh chapter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee. The constructions are part of a broader program marking the 65th anniversary of the traditional day of the Vietnam Border Guard and the 35th anniversary of the Whole People's Border Guard Day. During the handover, Senior Colonel Mai Van Yen, Political Commissar of the Tra Vinh Provincial Border Guard Command, encouraged the families to continue working towards improving their lives and contributing to maintaining political security and social order in coastal border areas.
