According to the crew-members of the trawler, at approximately 4:00 p.m. on March 31, fisherman Pham Anh, aged 53, a resident of Binh Duong commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province was working on trawler QNg 95255 TS when a coracle fell on his head, causing him briefly unconscious. He later experienced headaches, dizziness, and severe bleeding from a wound on the crown of his head. He was given first aid to stop the bleeding before being transported by the trawler to Truong Sa Island for emergency treatment, arriving at 12:30 p.m. on April 1 in the conscious state and able to communicate. However, he continued to suffer from headaches, dizziness, and persistent bleeding from a 15cm wound on the crown of his head.

Through examination, the doctors diagnosed him with a cerebral concussion and a head wound. They immediately conducted X-ray imaging and blood tests, provided emergency treatment, and administered wound care, pain relief, anti-inflammatory medication, antibiotics, and neuroprotection. Additionally, they prognosed the risk of the head wound’s infection and the potential progression of brain injury.

Currently, the on-duty medical teams at Truong Sa Island infirmary continue to monitor and treat fisherman Anh with analgesic therapy, anti-edema management, anti-inflammatory treatment, and neuroprotection. They are closely monitoring his conditions for timely report when any abnormalities occur.
