On March 23, Nguyen Anh, 54, from the Central province of Quang Ngai, experienced nausea and vomited blood while aboard fishing vessel QNg 90755 TS, anchored at Truong Sa Island’s port. He was later transported to the infirmary, where doctors diagnosed him with upper gastrointestinal bleeding, likely due to peptic ulcers.
Emergency treatment included X-rays, ultrasound, blood tests, and procedures to stop the bleeding, ease symptoms, and stabilize his condition.
He remains under medical supervision. Island doctors said they will consult Military Hospital 175 in Ho Chi Minh City about the case.
