Beyond slogans, they have contributed tens of thousands of labor days and built hundreds of public facilities, bringing new hope and changing the face of rural Western areas in Nghe An province.
Their contributions included over 200 kilometers of concrete rural roads, 28 kilometers of power lines, 187 kilometers of irrigation canals, 12 rural markets, dozens of cultural houses, schools, medical stations, 18 clean water facilities, eight bridges, and 160 strong homes. These are tangible evidence of their dedicated involvement.

Medical staff of the Nghe An Provincial Military Command checks health of a citizen in Que Phong commune. |
Senior Colonel Pham Dinh Trung, Deputy Political Commissar of the Command, affirmed that the movement has been integrated into annual plans and implemented decisively, with regular inspection and evaluation to ensure practical effectiveness.
The positive changes of Cha Lau village in Que Phong commune illustrates this impact. Families like that of Lu Van Tinh, a Thai ethnic resident, once living in poverty, now enjoy stable livelihoods thanks to support in building great unity houses, providing seedlings and livestock, and training in animal husbandry.
In Que Phong commune, the Command has developed 10 poultry farming models, donated 80 solar lamps, 110 tons of cement for community cultural house, built five great unity houses, 10 kilometers of concrete roads, and 18 kilometers of irrigation canals, worth over VND 1.3 billion in total. These efforts have helped many households escape poverty and brighten the landscape of the mountainous village.
Notably, troops have helped repair schools, built kitchens for boarding students, donated computers, bicycles, and warm clothes to support disadvantaged students. Programs like “Paving the way for students to school,” and “Adoptive mothers with Loving Connection” have supported 109 disadvantaged ethnic students.
Military doctors have also provided free health check-ups, consultations, and medicines to more than 450 residents.
According to Sr. Col. Nguyen Van An, Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, the emulation movement is not just about immediate support but about strengthening trust, cementing military-civilian solidarity, and building a firm people’s heart posture. Over the past five years, 254 “Good Mass Mobilization” models have been carried out, helping relocate livestock pens, prevent opium cultivation, and discourage spontaneous migration, contributing to local people’s improved material and spiritual life and security and social order in border areas.
In every remote hamlet, the image of soldiers working alongside villagers has become both familiar and endearing. These tireless efforts embody President Ho Chi Minh’s teaching of “Good mass mobilization ensures success in all matters.” Practical deeds by troops of Nghe An provincial Military Command have shined the good qualities of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and strengthened the close bond between the military and people in Nghe An’s border areas.
