Troops of the Meo Vac district Military Command (Ha Giang province) and militiamen clear the road leading to Khuoi Roai village, Tat Nga commune isolated by the flood.

In Meo Vac district, prolonged heavy rain caused local flooding in many areas, damaging crops, educational buildings, and electric poles. There were hundreds of cubic meters of soil and rocks sliding and spilling onto the road from the center of Meo Vac district to the Nho Que river and border communes. The Meo Vac district Military Command sent troops and local militiamen to help people clean their houses and evacuate households and properties in areas at risk of landslides to safer places.

In Ha Giang city, 39 areas and thousands of houses were flooded. When the flood died down, local people cleaned houses, collected waste, removed mud out of roads, and rescued flooded vehicles to ensure traffic circulation, among others.

Due to prolonged heavy rains, many villages in Meo Vac district are at high risk of landslides.

Amid the complicated developments of the weather conditions, Chairman of the Ha Giang provincial People’s Committee required departments, sectors, and people's committees at all levels to focus on responding to torrential rains in the whole province and overcoming the consequences, inquiring after and providing food and necessities for flood-hit families, and preparing accommodation for people whose houses were damaged due to the flood.

Meanwhile, they should mobilize forces to help people repair houses and clean the environment; pro-actively repair essential infrastructure facilities, especially medical stations, electricity systems, domestic water systems, traffic projects, and quickly restore production activities to stabilize people’s normal life.
