Many areas experiencing flooding

Knowing about the situation, right on the morning of June 9, the city's armed forces, together with local authorities, implemented urgent measures to brace for flood and help people overcome the consequences of the natural disaster.

In particular, Uong Bi city's Military Command mobilized militiamen and vehicles to be on stand-by at heavily flooded roads to prevent people from passing through and clear the flow and rescue flooded vehicles to ensure traffic circulation on Road 18.

Helping local people take their broken vehicles to safer places

In areas with flooding, the command sent troops to evacuate two households in Quang Trung ward and ten families in Bac Son ward to safer places. Meanwhile, the command teamed up with functional agencies and local authorities to place warning signs and deploy troops to watch over the areas with flood levels of 0.4m or higher to prevent passers-by from crossing.

* Over the past days in Ha Giang, due to heavy rains, many areas in districts of Dong Van plateau suffered from flash floods and serious landslides.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Van Tu, Head of the Traffic Police Team of Meo Vac district, in order to ensure the safety of tourists and residents, the unit placed warning signs, stretched warning tapes, and set up roadblocks at the beginning of the road leading to the Nho Que river and to three border communes. Also, they conducted patrols along the roads to provide timely support for people and arranged troops to stay ready to perform rescue missions.
