Delegates visiting a relic in Dinh Hoa district

The event was part of the activities to mark the 76th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and the General Department of Politics (December 22).

Particularly, the mission handed over gifts to 30 policy beneficiaries and four gratitude houses, worth VND 320 each, to needy families in Dinh Hoa district. Delegates also offered incense at the General Staff’s Office Relic in Bao Linh commune where General Vo Nguyen Giap used to live and work and the working place of General Hoang Van Thai.

They also toured the five-gate trench where General Nguyen Chi Thanh and personnel of the Office of the General Department of Politics used to stay to lead the Party and political work of the military, contributing to the victory of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign in 1954 in particular and the success of the anti-French war in general.

Speaking at the event, General Can recalled that, in spite of facing a lot of difficulties and hardships, the leadership and people of Dinh Hoa district always protected and provided wholehearted support for troops and staff of the General Department of Politics, helping them fulfill all assigned missions during the resistance war against the French colonialists.

He added that these gratitude activities demonstrated the care and gratitude of troops and staff of the Office of the General Department of Politics to the great support of the leadership and people of Dinh Hoa district during the resistance war against the French colonialists as well as in current national construction and defense cause.
