Fallen soldier’s family receives gratitude house
PANO - The Department of Planning and Investment under the Ministry of National Defense on July 4 presented a gratitude house to Can Thi Vinh, a relative of a fallen soldier.

Soldier Tran Huy Phuong sacrificed himself in the anti-American resistance war in 1968.
Completed after three months of construction, the 70sq.m house cost over VND 180 million, including VND 70 million from the department and the remainder from the Hanoi Capital Military Command, Thach That district’s Military Command, local People’s committee and Vinh’s family.
At the handover ceremony in Ha Tan village, Lien Quan town, Thach That district, Hanoi, relevant units also gave Vinh’s family other necessities.
The house was part of the department’s practical activities in tribute to national contributors and their relatives to mark 70 years of the Wounded and Fallen Soldiers’ Day (July 27).
Other recent gratitude activities of the department included incense offering to fallen soldiers at war cemeteries in Quang Tri provinces, homage paying to General Vo Nguyen Giap and fallen soldiers at the Dong Loc Junction Historical Relic Site, visit and gift presentation to national contributors in Ha Nam province, and national contributors in Quan Thanh ward, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi, where the department is stationed. On this occasion, the department contributed nearly VND 30 million to the Ministry of National Defense’s Gratitude Fund in 2017.
