Military school builds gratitude house for policy family
PANO – The Military Training School under Army Corps 3, in association with Cat Trinh commune, Phu Cat district, Binh Dinh province, on May 31, started construction of a gratitude house for the policy family of Doan Thi Nham in Phong An hamlet.
Her house used to be a place to hide and protect officials of the Party and troops of the Army Corps during the resistance war against the American imperialists. At present, Doan Thi Nham, 89, is living in hardship in an old small house with her husband and two children, who are wounded soldiers.
The 70sq.m house is scheduled to be completed on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Wounded Soldiers’ and Martyrs’ Day (July 27), at a cost of VND 140 million, of which VND 70 million was donated by the school which also provides laborers for the house construction.
Major General Nguyen Van Cuong, Deputy Political Commissar of Army Corps 3, said that the gratitude activity of the school’s troops has contributed to upholding the nation's tradition of “when drinking water, remember its source” and shown the spirit of solidarity, mutual affection and assistance of the Vietnamese people and the caring for the policy families of the Party, State and Army.
