South African Consulate funds five gratitude houses
PANO - The South African Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City and Vien Dong Assurance Corporation donated over VND 350 million to build five gratitude houses for the needy in Vietnam on April 18.

It was part of the activities in celebration of South Africa’s Freedom Day (April 27, 1994-2017).
The beneficiaries will be family members of naval soldiers who are undertaking missions of protecting national seas and islands.
Moreover, the two units presented a field study program valued at VND 100 million to assist students in acquiring more knowledge and getting much involved in public activities.
The houses and study program will be handed over to the recipients via Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and the “For beloved Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly)” Club.
The activity is hoped to partly promote the two countries’ ties, especially in marking the 24th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic ties.
