Following the direction of the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, the General Staff has been tasked with overseeing the development of the project. The Department of Military School Management under the General Staff, as the standing agency of the Steering Committee, has pro-actively drafted the project outline and sought feedback from military units and educational institutions across the armed forces.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, chairs the meeting.

The project is structured into seven sections: the necessity of the project; target audience and scope of implementation; objectives and viewpoints for project execution; project funding; project implementation; project impact; and proposals and recommendations.

During discussions at the meeting, participants emphasized the need for the project to ensure practicality, effectiveness, purposefulness, and flexibility, and to be creative and adapted to the realities of military agencies, units and schools.

Key points included the need to define clear tasks and solutions, raise awareness of building a learning society, complete relevant leadership documents, invest in infrastructure, and enhance digital transformation and the application of information technology in lifelong learning activities. Initiatives should foster self-learning skills among officers and soldiers, improve their ability to use information technology, and develop social relations, meeting the demands of both work and life.

An overview of the meeting

In conclusion, Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh affirmed that the project involves many aspects and requires engagement from a wide range of stakeholders. To ensure the progress, quality, and practical implementation of the project, he urged relevant agencies and units to continue their research and propose content for the project, actively participate in drafting the project, and provide feedback on related documents.

The Department of Military School Management will coordinate with agencies, units, and schools to develop survey plans, collect data, and complete the project draft and related documents. These will then be submitted to the Steering Committee for review, with further conferences and workshops to be organized as planned.
