Earlier, in compliance with orders from higher authorities to conduct an emergency medical evacuation for critically ill patients, the company dispatched helicopter EC225, numbered VN-8620. The aircraft departed from Vung Tau Airport, picked up a medical team from Military Hospital 175, and then flew to Truong Sa Island and Sinh Ton (Sin Cowe) Island in Khanh Hoa province to evacuate the patients.

At approximately 5:50 a.m., the helicopter took off to carry out the mission and reached the islands. The medical team promptly coordinated with naval personnel to transfer the patients onto the helicopter and transport them back to the mainland.

To ensure the patients’ safety, the flight crew overcame numerous difficulties and closely coordinated with relevant units, guaranteeing absolute flight safety. The medical staff and flight crew made every effort, raced against time, placing the mission of saving lives above all else.

After hours in the air, at 7:15p.m. the same day, the patients were safely brought to the mainland. Doctors at Military Hospital 175 immediately transferred them to the emergency department for treatment.

The two patients are Tran Thi Thanh Huyen and Truong Duc Phap. Tran Thi Thanh Huyen, born in 1991, is a resident of Sinh Ton Island, currently in her second pregnancy (20 weeks and 2 days). Her condition was assessed as severe, with a diagnosis of a mobile fetal position.

Truong Duc Phap, born in 1992, is a cipher staff member on Truong Sa Island, who suffered a traumatic brain injury and is being monitored for an intracranial hematoma in the left temporoparietal region following a fall in which his head struck a hard surface.

The use of the modern helicopter EC225 significantly reduced transport time and ensured the stable operation of medical equipment in the air, helping maintain the patients’ vital functions throughout the flight.
