With a strong sense of community cohesion, resilience, and the care and support of the military and authorities at all levels, flood-hit people in Central Vietnam are gradually overcoming hardship and stabilizing their lives.

Near noon, amidst cold weather and heavy rain, staff and orphans with congenital disabilities at the Ha Tinh Orphan Village under the Ha Tinh Provincial Department of Health gathered at the hall to welcome a delegation from Song Thu Corporation of the General Department of Defense Industry, which came to deliver gifts from the CMC and MND.

Nguyen Thi Huong, Deputy Director of the village, said the village is caring for 106 orphans, including 34 children with severe congenital disabilities and paralysis. Heavy floods in late October severely damaged many facilities of the village. After the waters receded, the Ha Tinh Provincial Military Command promptly deployed dozens of officers, soldiers, and militia personnel to assist with recovery. Ahead of the New Year 2026, the visit and donation of 150 gift packages, including milk and dry rations worth nearly VND 100 million in total, deeply moved and encouraged the children. Beyond material value, these gifts carried great spiritual significance for children who have suffered many hardships.

Later that afternoon, under torrential rain, 2,150 additional gift packages from the CMC and MND were personally delivered by Song Thu Corporation’s soldiers to wounded soldiers, families of martyrs, and disadvantaged residents severely affected by floods in Thach Khe and Dong Tien communes in Ha Tinh province, and Chan May-Lang Co commune and Thuy Xuan ward in Hue city.

On behalf of the delegation, the corporation’s Deputy General Director Senior Colonel Trinh Minh Hai expressed heartfelt sympathy and encouragement to each household, emphasizing that timely care and support reflected the spirit of mutual assistance and the close bond between the military and the people, helping communities gradually recover and rebuild their lives.

According to leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of Ha Tinh province and Hue city chapters, floods in late October and early November caused dozens of deaths, hundreds of injuries, and economic losses estimated at over VND 20 trillion. The compassion and support from the CMC and MND, and Song Thu Corporation’s soldiers was a vital motivation for local residents to stabilize their lives soon and restore production.

In Chan May-Lang Co commune, after learning that wounded soldier Tran Huu Bao, aged 78, residing in An Cu Dong 1 hamlet, was ill and unable to come to receive gifts, the delegation visited him. In his modest house, recently repaired with military support after Typhoon Bualoi, elderly Bao shared that despite losing most of his eyesight due to a traffic accident years ago, he always cherishes opportunities to meet and talk with soldiers. Grateful for the Party’s and State’s care over the years, he said he would share today’s gift with other needy households in the village.

Welcoming the soldiers, a seven-year-old 2nd grader at Thuy Xuan Primary School, and other children at SOS Children’s Village Hue excitedly shared stories from school. With dedicated care from mothers and teachers at the village, many children have shown clear progress in their studies. Senior Colonel Trinh Minh Hai praised their efforts and encouraged them to continue studying well to become useful citizens with stable, happy futures.

As the delegation departed Thuy Xuan late at night, firm handshakes and heartfelt farewells from local residents lingered. In the cold winter wind, military-civilian bonds and national solidarity felt stronger than ever.
