Ia Dal Border Post is assigned to manage seven hamlets in the two communes of Ia Dal and Ia Dom in Ia H’Drai. These localities have a total population of 2,693 people from 18 ethnic minority communities harmoniously living together. However, locals are facing numerous difficulties because of low literacy level and income. This poses challenges to local authorities, especially Ia Dal Border Post, in managing localities, maintaining security, and carrying out the mission of safeguarding sovereignty and border security. How to mobilize local people to participate in building the people’s defense and security postures towards firm whole people’s border defense posture has become the top priority of the border post’s Party committee and Chain-of-command.
For strong border areas
Over the past time, together with fostering information dissemination, border guard troops have tried their best to help locals escape poverty.

The unit’s troops assist Ha Thi Tuyen in storing her rice |
For the family Ha Van Dinh and Ha Thi Tuyen in hamlet 4 of Ia Dom commune, Head of the border post’s Mass Mobilization Team Senior Captain Hoang Van Thanh and deputy head of the team Major Nguyen Duc Vinh have long been considered close relatives. Dinh and his wife moved from Thanh Hoa to Ia Dal to work as laborers in the Sa Thay Rubber Company. In order to improve their living standards, the couple has utilized the marginal land along a river to cultivate wet rice. However, due to the lack of labor and good quality rice variety, rice yields remained relatively low.
More than a year ago, during a field trip, Capt. Thanh developed a plan to support Dinh’s family. With the approval of higher levels, in January, 2023, ten officers and soldiers were sent to the locality to assist Dinh in expanding cultivation areas, taking care of, and harvesting rice. In addition, Maj. Vinh sought and bought the new rice variety ADI 28 from ADI Agricultural Investment and Development Joint Stock Company. As a result, this rice variety produced a higher yield. That crop, Dinh and his wife had more than 20 sacks of rice.
Nguyen Cong Hai in hamlet 3 of Ia Dal commune is another local benefiting from the border post’s support models. As a worker of Sa Thay Rubber Company, Hai’s life faced many challenges because of low income. Thanks to border guards’ support, the young man’s living standards have been gradually improved.
With practical deeds, troops of Ia Dal Border Post have helped people in the border area overcome difficulties to build a better life in the border areas of the nation.
