First Lieutenant Tran Ngoc Hai (first from left) introduces his UAV model at the Training Preparation Competition 2024.

Hai always pro-actively applies the knowledge he learned at school and promotes self-study to improve his professional expertise. During his cadet life, he was really interested in learning about UAVs. He actively researched, learned, put aside allowances to buy materials and other equipment to build UAVs himself.

His self-developed UAV model to participate in the contest has been put into use at Se San Border Post to assist troops in combat training. During training, witnessing UAVs operating in the training ground helps it easier for troops to devise plans to destroy aerial targets with provided weapons and equipment.

According to First Lieutenant Tran Ngoc Hai, the device can fly at about 50-100km/h. The UAV has aerodynamic design and is easily changed in height, speed, and range by operators. It is independently upgraded, easy to be repaired. Such an UAV costs only VND 800,000 to 900,000.

Commenting on First Lieutenant Hai, Lieutenant Colonel Bui Huu Hoan, Political Commissar of Se San Border Post, said that though he is young, Hai is always enthusiastic, exemplary, and takes the lead in training and daily life. He actively does research, makes initiatives, and improves equipment for work. Good at expertise, Hai is also an energetic, enthusiastic, and responsible Youth Union cadre.
