In late April, units of the armed forces and local people have braved scorching weather to practice in preparation for the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory. Based on their assigned tasks, the Dien Bien provincial Border Guard Command has coordinated with local police and military forces to regularly patrol and closely follow the development of local situation in border areas, thus advising local party committees and authorities to effectively handle arising issues to ensure absolute safety in border areas.

Stationed in a locality holding defense and security significance, Thanh Long Border Post is tasked with managing and protecting a 13.818km-long border section with seven border markers and three communes of Thanh Nua, Thanh Luong, and Thang Hung of Dien Bien district.
According to Head of Thuong Luong Border Post Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Dai, in realizing the direction of the provincial border guard command, the unit has built a combat readiness plan to protect border areas and localities during the holiday; closely followed situational developments; well coordinated with Regiment 293 of Division 361 of the Air Defense – Air Force Service, Regiment 741 of the Dien Bien provincial Military Command, and the Military Command of Dien Bien district to manage and protect border areas and airspace and be prepared to conduct other missions.
In sea border areas, the border guards have well observed duty regulations and enhanced patrol to follow situation on key areas. According to Second-in-Command and Chief of Staff of the Khanh Hoa provincial Border Guard Command Colonel Nguyen Lam Nam, to ensure security during the holiday, the provincial border guard command has built a plan and directed its agencies and units to enhance patrol and strictly manage border gates and border ports; prepare forces, weapons, equipment, and ensure smooth communication lines to flexibly and effectively handle circumstances.
In addition, the Staff Department of the provincial border guard command has accelerated the inspection of transportation vehicles to ensure safety for passengers during the holiday; worked with functional agencies to update situation at sea; well carry out the prevention of illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing activities at sea.

Talking about the implementation of combat readiness missions during the holiday, Head of the Border Post of Ha Tien International Border Post of the Kien Giang provincial Border Guard Command Colonel Nguyen Van Tung said that the unit has pro-actively enhanced patrol and inspection to well manage the border crossing activities in designated areas. Notably, the unit has extended working hours to handle immigration and import and export procedures and maintained duty regulations around the clock to detect and handle circumstances in a timely manner.
