The Expo is slated for December 2026 at Gia Lam Airport, Hanoi. It is identified as a key defense diplomacy and international defense industry cooperation event, contributing to enhancing Vietnam’s international position and reputation, while fostering national pride and responsibility in national construction and defense among the armed forces and the public.
On the same day, the MND held a conference reviewing one year of the merger of the General Department of Logistics and the General Department of Technical Services into the General Department of Logistics and Technical Services (GDLT) with Deputy Defense Minister Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Van Hien as the chair.

The reorganization has improved advisory effectiveness and streamlined the structure by reducing intermediate levels and overlapping functions, ensuring support for training, combat readiness, and missions.
Concluding the conference, Gen. Hien praised the GDLT and logistics and technical services for their pro-active recommendations and forecasting. He urged continued institutional improvement, innovative support methods, and the development of an elite, compact force to meet modern defense requirements. He also emphasized strengthening logistics-technical capabilities in military regions and local defensive areas.
Additionally, on April 8, Gen. Hien inspected science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation at the Signal Corps. The corps has recently achieved significant results, including five specialized research groups, shared digital ecosystems, and e-government architecture frameworks. It has also deployed 24 professional software programs, completed record digitization, and implemented digital signatures down to the battalion level.

The defense leader directed the Signal Corps to further enhance digital infrastructure capability to support command automation and digital transformation in the military, focusing on mastering core technologies such as next-generation telecommunications network, and build high-level expert teams.
The Corps was urged to complete and effectively operate digital ecosystems, expand digital transformation across the military, and develop smart education models with digital learning resources. The goal is to ensure all personnel of the Corps acquire digital knowledge and skills, have awareness of cybersecurity, and gradually become “digital soldiers” while scientific and technical experts benefit from appropriate support policies.
