According to the World Health Organization (WHO), breast cancer is the most common type with about 2.3 million new cases each year, accounting for about 1/8 of all cancers in both men and women. Importantly, breast cancer can be treated effectively if detected early.

However, many cases of breast cancer nowadays are discovered only at a late stage due to low awareness in society and hesitation of breast cancer screenings.

Hence, together with the UNISFA’s staff, members of the Vietnamese Engineering Company Rotation 3 want to help local people in Abyei, especially women, learn more about the importance of regular health check-ups to prevent and detect diseases from an early stage.
