Lieutenant Colonel Le Hong Giang, Political Commissar of the company, said that in this movement, the unit focuses on achieving “Five Bests” in awareness, performance of political tasks, discipline observance, assurance of logistics services and technical conditions, and effective organization of activities, including external affairs ones.

To do that, the unit would promote its predecessors’ achievements, enhance innovation in task implementation to make breakthroughs, leave a good impression on international colleagues and local people. In addition, its personnel would heighten responsibility, improve professionalism, have higher awareness of their peacekeeping mission, carry out humanitarian assistance work, and build solidarity with other international units stationed in Abyei.

In his speech, Ugyen Tenzen, Head of the Integrated Force Mobility Team (IFMT) under UNISFA, lauded attainments gained by the Engineering Company Rotation 2 during their 2023-2024 term. He expressed his belief that Rotation 3 would stay united with other units garrisoned in the area, and join hands in helping the local authorities and people have a better life, contributing to building an international community of peace, stability, and development.

Right after the ceremony, the engineers carried out first activities. They built roads and took on rescue tasks in two directions: From UNISFA’s headquarters to Banton bridge and from Banton bridge, via Athony, to Km27.
