Troops from the Engineering Division of the Military Command of Nghe An province are about to detonate the bomb. |
Having received the information, the commune’s military forces were deployed to the scene to cordon off the area, establish a guard post and prevent residents from entering the potentially hazardous zone. The incident was also reported to higher-level authorities for further instructions.
The object was identified as an MK-82 bomb, a highly destructive and dangerous war remnant, measuring 27cm in diameter, 155cm in length, with its detonator still intact.
Using specialized techniques, the Engineering Division of the Military Command of Nghe An province successfully neutralized the detonator, then collaborated with local military forces to transport the bomb to a safer zone in Nam Son commune, Do Luong district, for disposal, ensuring absolute safety of personnel and property.
